Our Charities and CSR
Lawson Conner – Corporate Social Responsibility and Charities
Here you can find all of our efforts in giving back, both to the local community and world-wide. Our corporate social responsibility and charities support play an important role in the activities of Lawson Conner as a group and individually.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Lawson Conner have a commitment to its employees, its customers, contractors and the communities it operates within to act professionally, to deliver an exceptional quality of service, and support and invest in the future of our business relationships.
As a company driven by its people, we put it to our people to select our charities each year. Traditionally, we raise money for a local and a national charity and a global cause. The nomination of a local or a national charity often stems from employee’s personal experience and Lawson Conner are proud to support and promote awareness of a worthwhile cause that can help either on a regional or global level. Some of those recent initiatives are mentioned below:
Cycling to MIPIM for Coram
In March this year, Joe Woodbury, our Director, Investment Management Solutions, has participated in the Legal & General cycle ride to MIPIM. The challenge comprised a grueling 1500km (932-mile) bike ride from London to Cannes. That was an average of 155 miles a day for 6 consecutive days!
Joe was undertaking the ride on behalf of the charity Coram. Founded in 1739, Coram is the UK’s first children’s charity. Since then, Coram has been helping transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable children in our local communities. Coram gives children the chance of a better and brighter future.
About Club Peloton and Coram
Club Peloton is a fundraising charity which uses cycling as its platform for challenge events, bringing together a love for the sport and the opportunity to raise money for great causes. Their main grant recipient – receiving two thirds of all funds raised – is Coram, the UK’s oldest children’s charity.
Their flagship service, Coram Adoption, is the most successful voluntary adoption agency in the UK, finding loving and secure homes for some of the most vulnerable and hard-to-place children in the country. They now help more than 1.25 million children and young people every year. For more information please visit: www.coram.org.uk
