The application and role summary:

Based in the London office, the Assistant Purchasing Ledger and Credit Control will join the Finance team in a key role to take ownership of all the transactional accounting duties and the creation and collection of the firm’s professional service invoices in accordance with the company’s principles and procedures. The Assistant Purchasing Ledger and Credit Control will handle all Purchasing and Sales invoice management, especially the collection of payment and the resolution of all client invoice enquiries

Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring the full accounting of supplier invoices, managing the payment schedule and due dates

2. Bank entry and daily/weekly/monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts

3. Sales Invoice creation in accordance with client engagement letters

4. Payment collection either through Direct Debit or management of client’s paying within payment terms

5. Management of the credit control function to ensure all customer balances are reconciled on a monthly basis

6. Maintenance of up to date detailed credit control notes

7. Liaison with internal functions of the business to resolve invoice queries

8. Working with the Management Accountants to raise credit notes

Requirements:

1. Previous experience dealing with Corporate clients / customers is essential

2. Ability to communicate effectively with client Senior Management

3. Confident to communicate effectively in an appropriate manner with tact and diplomacy on the phone and via email

4. Previous experience working in a similar role in a Professional Services firm

5. Good knowledge of credit control procedures and disciplines

6. Desire to work in a fast-moving professional services environment

7. Ability to work to tight timescales whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy

Qualifications and Experience :

1. Educated to ‘A’ Level or equivalent;

2. Proficient user of Microsoft Office and excellent IT skills (especially excel)

3. Professional and positive approach;

4. Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative (self-motivated where necessary);

5. Good communication skills, both written and oral
